Confession time

Nutella is one of my major weaknesses. I hesitate to admit that I used to buy Costco-sized tubs of it and eat it by the spoonful. I am therefore not allowed (by me) to buy it anymore. But when I saw this recipe from Angry Chicken for chocolate hazelnut scones, I knew what I had to do. Hazelnuts were purchased and toasted and I whipped up a batch of these beauties on Sunday. The one modification I made was to cut each circle into sixths instead of quarters and I only baked them for 15 minutes, so I ended up with a dozen smaller scones.

Oh, what’s that? You only see eleven? One, two, three…yep, you’re right. Huh, weird–maybe someone broke into my apartment and stole one! There has been a rash of scone thefts lately, I heard…

Oh, I didn’t realize you were there! Yeah, I uh, found this one. It didn’t get stolen after all. I was just examining it. For uniformity. Hmm, looks pretty good, yep. Correct ratio of chocolate chips to hazelnuts. Fit for consumption.

Divide the hypotenuse of the chocolate chip by the cubic volume of the hazelnut...
