Holiday Party Time

The scene: Last Tuesday evening, both of us sitting at our respective computers.
Steven: Oh yeah, my work is having a big holiday party at Bimbo’s 365.
Me: Cool…
Steven: I forgot to tell you about it but I RSVP’ed for us and it’s on Thursday.
Me: This Thursday? As in two days from now?
Steven: Yep.
Me: Hmm, well, good thing I don’t need to find a dress.

This is exactly the reason my closet contains a little black dress. It’s sort of boring and no one will give you a best-dressed award for wearing one, but at least it’s classy and appropriate for most occasions and with the right accessories it can be worn many ways. I bought mine from a little shop in Hayes Valley that was closing, so everything was marked way down. The best part about it is that it has pockets, though you can’t tell from these photos.

The party was fun, but there was a forgettable live band covering modern pop hits until The Sugar Hill Gang showed up to play a few songs. They definitely livened things up.
