Weekend Wear

April 25, 2010

Dresses make getting dressed so simple that they almost feel like cheating. I’m always baffled by people who think that putting on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt (two pieces), is less work than a dress. For the effort-to-style ratio, dresses can’t be beat. It’s certainly easy to jazz them up with accessories, although I kept mine fairly simple this time. I did add a pair of pretty awesome see-through thrifted sandals, though. For the heel height, they’re really surprisingly comfortable.

Oh, and a funny thing about the bag is that when I bought it for $5 at Valencia Community Thrift, it was missing the straps. After a couple of weeks of scouring belt racks at thrift stores, however, I managed to find a black strap that was missing its bag at Out of the Closet. They go together perfectly and were clearly meant to be. Don’t you love it when things work out like that?

Dress: Richard Chai for Target
Cardigan: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Bag: Thrifted
Sandals: Sam & Libby (thrifted)

P.S. See that black-and-white striped trench on the rack in the background? I wore that for protection from San Francisco’s wicked winds.
