Playing Favorites

August 26, 2010

It’s considered bad to play favorites with children or pets, but with shoes it’s guilt-free. With that in mind, I thought I’d show off my top 5 pairs of shoes right now. I also wanted to try out a new photography setup I came up with today. But forget that, just look at the pretty shoes.

On the left we have a pair by Chie Mihara, from eBay. You better believe I e-stalked these babies to make them mine. The middle pair is thrifted vintage Pierre Cardin, and up this close you can see that the leather on the front is totally scratched up. The righthand pair is from Anthropologie (super on sale, of course).

The lefthand pair is Denna and Ozzy, from Buffalo Exchange, and the pair on the right is thrifted, from the same thrift store I got the above thrifted pair. I’ve found some pretty epic stuff there, as has Ms. Cuffington.

These favorites don’t include my boots–I think that’s a whole ‘nother post.

I really love your lace-up flats. I’ve got some brown ones my friends refer to as granny-shoes at a second hand store last year and I wear them all the time. I feel like I’m on the hunt for black ones now for ages but I just gave in to find some second hand, so I ordered some at two days ago and now I’m desperatly waiting for them to arrive.
In my opinion those kind of shoes are the perfect combination of style, elegance and comfort. And they look effortless and always a little bit artsy in a good way.
Hopefully I’ll like the shoes I ordered. Congrats on your finds.
