My Favorite Wedding Blogs

If you’re planning a wedding, there are a ton of blogs out there with great ideas and advice. I flipped through a couple of bridal magazines, but with the exception of Martha Stewart Weddings, I found them all pretty boring and uninspiring. Most “traditional” wedding stuff just isn’t my taste, and I wanted to handmake as much of our wedding as possible.  Since we were planning long-distance there was a lot of stuff that just wasn’t feasible to do, but I was able to find many inspiring ideas in the following places.

100 Layer Cake – They feature some drop-dead gorgeous weddings (and hardly any engagement sessions, which is great, because some other sites have way too many and I think they’re irrelevant to wedding planning.)

One Pretty Wedding – This is the wedding version of the popular DIY-roundup site, One Pretty Thing. If you’re planning to DIY any part of your wedding, this is a great place to start.

Rock N’ Roll Bride – For the girl who wants to defy convention and have a truly non-traditional wedding, this is your site. Punk, goth, rock n’ roll, vintage-inspired–it’s all here.

Ruffled – Really great, well-organized photo galleries of ideas and inspiration, plus DIY projects.

Style Me Pretty – The real weddings, fashion and wedding inspiration galleries, and DIY projects here are all lovely.

The Sweetest Occasion – Many cute DIY projects and free printables.

The Bride’s Cafe – Pretty traditional, but lots of good ideas.

It’s way too easy to spend hours looking at wedding websites, so have fun searching for inspiration! I recommend saving photos of everything you like to a folder on your computer, and/or bookmarking with a site that lets you view your bookmarks from any computer. That way you’ll be sure not to lose them!
