About

Welcome to my blog! My name is Rachel, and I live with my husband and our two fluffy, silly cats near Portland, Oregon. I blog about my craft/DIY projects, outfits, handmade items, baking, fashion, and whatever else I happen to be obsessed with at the moment. If someone could just pay me to fly around the world, visit cool places, make neat stuff, and blog about it, that would be great, thanks.

We live in a world of transient expression, from the clothes we wear to the text messages we send. My goal with this blog is to regularly post the sort of things that I enjoy reading, in the hopes that there are others out there who have the same interests and who want to connect. Want to be blog friends? I love comments, links, and emails (transientexpression at gmail.com)!

Aww, thank you! But you might be surprised at the level of craftiness in the science community–I know quite a few pH.D ladies who know their way around a sewing machine and knitting needles.

Hi Rachel, my sister wanted a scallop short for a while and she found your blog. Then had me made one for her today with the help from your wonderful site. It was easy to follow on your how to. I will bookmark your site and check back often.

Bluemoon, yay, I’m so glad to hear that you used my tutorial and were happy with the results! I’d love to see how her shorts turned out if you have any pictures.
